Embracing wholeness in Christ
We're glad you're here to learn more about our story and mission.

What we believe
Here's a brief outline of what we believe:
- The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
- The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
- The universal sinfulness and guilt of humanity since the fall, rendering men and women subject to God's wrath and condemnation.
- The conception of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and his birth by the virgin Mary.
- Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death, as our representative and substitute, of Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
- The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
- The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective in the individual sinner, granting him or her repentance towards God, and faith in Jesus Christ.
- The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
- The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Formed by the living testimony of Christ in our lives to fulfil His Will 生命故事
We were once a group of Chinese Christians who had fully dedicated ourselves to God at a young age.We loved learning, loved working hard, and poured ourselves into different ministries with zeal and commitment. We believed we were being faithful—and we were often affirmed by others.Yet as God led each of us through our own life journeys, He gradually revealed a painful truth to us:something was not right in the way we were living out our faith.
We knew Scripture well and were praised for our service.
But in private life, another reality emerged. We became impatient and unforgiving with our spouses. We were controlling in our children’s lives. We were still preoccupied with position and recognition. We judged those we disliked. We tried hard to suppress desires for money and worldly security, yet we were unwilling to face what was truly stirring in our hearts.
As ministers, we saw broken people—but our love and compassion had quietly diminished.Evangelism began to feel like a task.Pastoral ministry sometimes became a way to survive rather than a calling of love.Confession turned into a formality.Prayer became a routine. We had knowledge, but we lacked the power to truly repent. And slowly, we lost the capacity to love.
We came to a painful realisation: a person can remain a visible leader even while growing distant from God. Being able to preach does not mean spiritual health. Emotions deeply connect with one’s relationship with God. Outward spirituality can coexist with inner jealousy, conflict, and fragmentation. Our emotional lives and relationships were inseparable from our true spiritual condition. In our human weakness, we often lived under the control of unchecked emotions. And the enemy’s temptations and provocations were real—subtle, hidden, and powerful.
We Need To Pray!
In 2021, the Holy Spirit drew some of us together, and we began meeting online in prayer. From the depths of our hearts, we lifted our voices to our loving Father:
Father, do not let us lose our first love.Restore in us a living, vibrant relationship with You.Teach us to serve from the place of Your rest.Do not let us boast in our own crosses, but only in the cross of Christ.Grant us true humility—not the false confidence that thinks we stand firm, yet quietly drifts toward the ways of the Pharisees.
God is a God who hears prayer. When we draw near to Him, He draws near to us. He knows the deepest needs of His children, and He responds to those He loves with His goodness and grace. He begins His work at the very foundations of our lives. We wept together, shared our life stories, and supported one another as we learned to surrender ourselves—and our circumstances—to God. In the midst of many challenges, especially within our emotional lives and relationships, we learned patience and trust, and experienced deep transformation and renewal.
Through this shared journey of learning—including the Integrated Certificate program at Biola University (with Integrative Psychotherapy by Mark McMinn and Clark Campbell as a core text), our training with AIFC—together with ongoing reflection and the gentle illumination of the Holy Spirit, God taught us to pay attention to our emotions, behaviors, words, and relationships. These became windows into the true condition of our hearts, and also signals calling us to turn back to God—to deeper repentance, renewed dependence on the blood of Christ, and a more wholehearted gaze toward Him.
We learned to engage the issues rooted in the innermost places of our lives, to lay our burdens before God, and to recognize the complex and often hidden dynamics of sin—not for self-condemnation, but for genuine repentance by His grace. At the same time, we began to face human weakness more honestly, learning to rely more deeply on God and to grow in compassion, acceptance, and mercy toward the weakness of others.
Along this path, we learned what it means to repent deeply before God, rather than superficially; and to serve not out of striving, zeal, self-righteousness, or judgment, but from the rest that God Himself gives.
Gradually, we came to understand this truth:
To live in Christlikeness across every dimension of life—holistic wholeness—is the work of God’s power and grace.
Yet as human beings, we also need wisdom and concrete pathways to recognize the real needs and struggles that surface through our emotions, relationships, thoughts, behaviors, and wills—and to be transformed within them intentionally. We must learn to look wholly to His mercy and grace, so that we may submit to the truth, be renewed in our minds, and live transformed lives—being conformed to Christ from the inside out, rather than merely imitating how He carried out ministry.
For example, when a Christian experiences profound distress during the COVID pandemic, many caregivers may instinctively say, “You just need to pray.” Yet beneath the surface, that person may be carrying an unbearable burden—such as overwhelming concern for young children, a fragile faith, or an unclear understanding of death and eternity. These unseen weights can leave a person emotionally exhausted, with no strength left to turn toward God. Here we clearly see the tension: knowing that we should trust Jesus, yet feeling utterly unable to trust Him.
Bridging this gap requires wisdom, loving accompaniment, patience, spiritual illumination, genuine repentance, and empowerment from God—so that a person not only experiences justification through Christ’s redemption, but continues on the path of sanctification: repenting again and again, trusting again and again, being renewed again and again, and growing into holiness—becoming more and more like Jesus.
2023 年,惊闻我们中的一位失去了患有抑郁的独生子后,神带领Lily 开始在悉尼大学的华人国际学生事工(MBS)中担任志愿者帮助心灵有困扰的年轻人。这也使事工的方向逐渐清晰——以心灵辅导关怀作为途径,在人心最深的痛苦中给予安慰,并在极深的苦难之处见证神的作为;
In 2023, after hearing that one among us had lost her only child to depression, God led Lily to begin serving as a volunteer with the Chinese International Student Ministry (MBS) at the University of Sydney, supporting young people who were struggling emotionally. Through this journey, the direction of the ministry gradually became clear—to use inner and emotional care as a pathway, to offer comfort in the deepest pain of the human heart, and to witness God’s work in places of profound suffering.
As time went on, we became more deeply aware of a sobering reality: within the church—especially within Chinese churches—many Christians genuinely love the Lord, yet live in deep inner exhaustion, just as we once did. Few are truly accompanied or able to lay down their inner burdens, because many pastors and ministry workers themselves are serving while extremely fatigued and weakened. Churches often place great emphasis on ministry and outcomes, and on Bible reading and prayer, yet pay limited attention to whether disciples are living with a healthy and integrated life. There is a lack of deep awareness and cultivation of the inner life, a lack of equipped disciples to do this work, and, realistically, it is often difficult to open one’s heart within the church community.
We continued to cry out to Him, asking Him to guide our path.
Although most of us had already entered the second half of life, God miraculously called us into a new battlefield—a fresh beginning, a lifelong calling that requires faithfulness. Thus, Healthy Disciples (Chinese) Ministry came into being on July 1, 2025.
Through John 6:9–12, God taught us how He desires His work to be done: to return to childlike trust, to place even the little we have into His hands, and to let Him multiply and bless it.
Through Matthew 17:27, He taught us to rest fully in His provision.
Through Isaiah 53:2, He reminded us not to shrink back simply because we may lack outward impressiveness.
Yes, we are still journeying forward, being renewed and shaped. We know with confidence that His will shall surely be fulfilled.
and he sent a man before them— Joseph, sold as a slave.18 They bruised his feet with shackles, his neck was put in irons,19 till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the Lord proved him true.

Learning to serve in God's calling, from Sabbath, as disciples being formed in wholeness
We engage in The Healthy Disciples Ministry not because we are already holistically healthy and therefore able to make others healthy—if that were the case, the ministry would never begin. Rather, we grow together within the ministry and accompany others in their growth.
We help, and we are helped. We train, and we are trained. We supervise, and we are supervised.
We are disciples who are served by Jesus Christ, who serve one another, and who serve others—pressing on daily toward the goal, who is Jesus Christ.
